How to custom tungsten parts
Customized tungsten metal parts require a combination of your specific needs, material properties and processing technology to design and produce tungsten products that meet your requirements.
1、Demand analysis and technical consultation
Before customized tungsten parts are made, we will have an in-depth understanding of the customer's application requirements, including the use of the product, the desired shape, size, accuracy requirements and environmental conditions (e.g. temperature, pressure, corrosiveness, etc.). At the same time, the technical team will consult with the customer to help determine the most suitable tungsten alloy composition and manufacturing process to ensure the best performance of the customized parts.
2、Material selection and alloy composition determination
Depending on the needs of different applications, pure tungsten or tungsten alloys (e.g. tungsten-nickel-iron alloys, tungsten-nickel-copper alloys, etc.) can be selected. Pure tungsten has a very high melting point and strength, while tungsten alloys with nickel and iron additions are more ductile and corrosion resistant. Therefore, the choice of material not only determines the product performance, but also affects the subsequent processing method. We will recommend the most suitable type of tungsten material based on the balance between product performance and cost.
3、Precision machining design and process planning
Tungsten is difficult to cut and mold by conventional methods due to its high hardness and extremely high melting point, so powder metallurgy or special machining processes are usually used.
Powder metallurgy: Tungsten powder is pressed and sintered at high temperatures to form high-density tungsten blanks, which are then finely machined by cutting and grinding as needed.
Machining: Finishing is performed by turning, milling, grinding or electric discharge machining (EDM) using specialized tungsten machining equipment, which is particularly suitable for high-precision parts with complex shapes.
For customized requirements, we will evaluate and select the best machining process to achieve strict control of shape, precision and surface quality.
4、Quality inspection and precision control
After tungsten parts are machined, they need to pass strict quality control procedures, including dimensional inspection, surface finish measurement and performance testing.
Dimensional Inspection: High precision gauges or coordinate measuring machines (CMM) are used to ensure that dimensional accuracy meets drawing requirements.
Performance testing: For high-temperature and high-intensity applications, tensile strength tests and hardness tests are used to ensure that mechanical properties are up to standard.
Surface treatment: Depending on the application requirements, the surface is polished or oxidized to enhance wear resistance, corrosion resistance or aesthetics.
5、Packaging and Delivery
